One Touch Of Venus

Venus found she was a goddess
In a world controlled by gods
So she opened up her bodice
And equalised the odds!
Metal Monkey Theatre Company are proud to present a witty new production of the hilarious and touching romantic musical comedy “One Touch of Venus”.
When a rich art collector buys an antique statue of the goddess of love, he gets a lot more than he bargained for! Before you can say “short back and sides”, this barber accidentally brings the statue to life, and the goddess pursues the barber onto the streets of Manhattan.
In this delightful comic caper we’ll meet a sharp-tongued secretary, the world’s worst psychoanalyst, an “Oirish” maid, a knife-wielding Anatolian maniac and the fiancée and prospective mother-in-law from hell (or at least from New Jersey).
But will the barber ever find his true love?
With a wonderfully jazzy score by Kurt Weill and a hilarious book by S J Perelman and Ogden Nash, make sure you get your touch of Venus this Fringe!
