The Northampton Gilbert and Sullivan Group are delighted to return to the Royal auditorium with their latest production.
Following the success of HMS Pinafore, Gilbert and Sullivan began working on their new collaboration. The Pirates of Penzance was an immediate hit and takes its place today as one of the most popular and enduring works of musical theatre; a firm favourite with both performers and audience alike.
Once again Gilbert’s topsy turvey world cannot fail to delight and Sullivan’s music is one of the highest standard. It is a tale of inept pirates and policeman together with all our favourite stereotypes – the elderly contralto, the handsome tenor and, of course, the Major-General with his bevy of beautiful daughters.
