In 16th century Germany the ageing, disillusioned Faust is tempted into a fateful pact by the charismatic Mephistopheles with tragic results for a naive girl, her impetuous brother and his love-sick friend.
A fest of well-known music, Faust combines colourful exuberance, thrilling drama and emotional poignancy with a whiff of decadence: irresistible!
About the Author

Guildford Opera was formed in 1971 with the aim of presenting a wide range of grand opera and operetta to Guildford audiences. Now our repertoire is extremely varied and includes musicals and concerts. Our directors and designers always ensure a production that is entertaining to watch, fun to perform and above all enjoyable. The cast is selected through open auditions, and frequently includes rising stars of the London professional opera scene, and young singers straight out of music college.
We rehearse at Merrow Methodist Church Hall, Bushey Hill Drive, Merrow, every Wednesday evening from 7.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.
Our productions require non-performing members to help with set design, backstage crew, scenery painting, and administration such as publicity. If you join us, you can enjoy a new social life with a series of events varied enough to appeal to every taste, ranging from theatre visits to dinner parties. ...
