- Notes: Princess Ida, King Gama’s daughter was betrothed to Hilarion, King Hildebrand’s son, when both were very young. Thirty years later, when the show opens, King Gama is expected to arrive with his daughter for the delayed Nuptials. He brings his hulking sons instead to tell Hildebrand that she has opened an all-female University.The period of our production will be 1920s and the dialogue has been largely re-written. Music is splendid, as good as any Sullivan in this style.
