Festival Players
perform a celebration of
West End musical theatre
‘The World in Musicals’
A charity concert, performed by the Festival Players, will take place at four separate venues throughout the Cambridge area during February. The World in Musicals features hit songs from the West End and Broadway, including shows such as Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Spamalot, Carousel, Mamma Mia and Miss Saigon, performed by the award-winning theatre group the Festival Players, whose production of Sweeney Todd sold out for its entire five-night run at the ADC Theatre in June 2009. The group also won the NODA Eastern Region Best Musical award for its production of The Scarlet Pimpernel in 2008. Tickets for the event are just ?5, with a percentage of profits being shared with Red Balloon Learner Centres (we will also be making an additional donation to the Vine School from funds raised from the concert hosted there). Seating will be in ‘cabaret-style’ tables and chairs, and a licensed bar will operate at all venues (subject to confirmation at St Faith’s). In all cases, the bar opens 7.30pm, with the performance starting at 8pm.
