- Notes: Music Lovers will be transported to America on a magic carpet ride provided by Rug Opera when their “Very best of American Music” Tour visits Aldeburgh Parish Church following six sell out charity concerts from Southend to Illchester.The programme of specially selected ensembles solos and duets includes: Sondheim on Broadway, songs from Bernstein’s West Side Story & Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, plus the best of Cole Porter and a host of other American composersRug Opera was formed in 1995 with three simple aims: to be a mobile group, able to travel easily from venue to venue; to provide a high standard of musicianship and to donate the proceeds of their music making to charity. Each summer they tour with a concert or show.
