SADATA One Act Play Festival 2009
- Jun 9th 2009 7:15 pm to Jun 13th 2009 10:30 pm
Sheffield’s oldest and most prestigious Amateur Theatre Festival returns this year under new management, bigger and better than ever but with the same classic style and format.
Every year amateur theatre groups from across Sheffield District are invited to take part in friendly competition designed to showcase the best of their local talent. Submitted entries must consist of just one act of between 20-40 minutes in length, and will be independently judged on their technical and aesthetic merits by an independent adjudicator, with numerous awards and prizes being presented to the winners on the final night by the Lord Mayor of Sheffield.
This year has had more entry submissions than any other, 14 different plays in total spread over 5 nights and includes something for everyone. There will be a blend of comedy and tragic pieces, with some that will make you think, some that will make you cry and some that will have you rolling with laughter, and each night has a different line up.
All performances will be at the Library Theatre, underneath the Central Lending Library in Tudor Square, Sheffield, from Tuesday 9th until Saturday 13th June. Curtain is at 7.15pm each night except on the Saturday when it will be at 7pm. Tickets are £7 full price, £6 concessions, and can be booked by calling 0114 2551367 or emailing priorymount [at] blueyonder [dot] co [dot] uk
