Amanda Noar

Amanda Noar has worked extensively in theatre, television and film, both as an actress but also as a director/choreographer. Her theatre work includes Anita in West Side Story, both at Her Majesty’s Theatre London and on National Tour; Fields of Ambrosia at the Aldwych London; Chava in Fiddler on The Roof with Topol; Gypsy in Gypsy at The Grand Theatre Swansea; Claudine in Can Can at The Belgrade Theatre Coventry; Hunyak in Chicago at Leicester Haymarket; Godspell on National Tour; Rochula on National Tour; Sweet Charity, Cabaret, Once in a Lifetime and Flying Blind, all at The Forum Theatre Wythenshawe; and Hortense in The Boy Friend at the Prince Regent Farnborough. Amanda appeared as Becky in Filling in The Cracks at Manchester’s Comedy Store, and Jenny in Funk Face at the Arts Depot London, which she also directed. Television work includes Rose Finnigan in Brookside, Melanie Norriss in Casualty; Natasha Glendenning in Lovejoy; Sally in Boon; Norma in Stay Lucky; Helen Carson in Starting Out; Julie Clay in Coronation Street; Susan in The Benefit; Donna in Out on the Floor, Letitia in Hollyoaks and most recently Carol Dawson in Hollyoaks Extra. Films include Marian in The Front Line for Bluebell Films; Bib Furtuna’s girlfriend in The Return of the Jedi for Lucas Films, Vanessa in The Unkindest Cut for Film on Two; Kim in I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle (now on special release on DVD). Amanda has enjoyed playing in many pantomimes including Tinkerbell in Peter Pan; Aladdin in Aladdin; Jack in Jack and the Beanstalk; Dandini in Cinderella; Dick in Dick Whittington; and Jack in Mother Goose. Amanda has directed and choreographed many musicals including, The Wiz & Summer Holiday at the Artsdepot, North Finchley, The Boy Friend, Bye Bye Birdie, Little Shop of Horrors, Annie and Best Little Whorehouse in Texas at the Millfield Theatre, Edmonton, The Pajama Game, Annie and The Boyfriend for Alyth Academy in Temple Fortune. In September she produced and directed a sold out production of “Stepping Out” in the studio theatre at the Artsdepot, Finchley, followed by a “back by public demand” further production of Stepping Out at Upstairs at The Gatehouse, Highgate. Pantomimes Amanda has directed include, Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington, Peter Pan at Broxbourne and Aladdin at The Civic Centre, Aylesbury.
