Extra Information

  • Notes: Probably one of the most famous songs in the show ‘Sweet Charity’ is the ever memorable ”Big Spender”, released in the UK charts by Shirley Bassey in 1967. Ever since then it has been used in adverts, on tv programmes, on radio, and it is a now a house hold track known by everyone. So why not go and see the song performed in the show it belongs ”Sweet Charity”. Performed by Southey Musical Theatre Company this November. This fast moving, upbeat, and modern show is a great one to watch, it also includes the songs ‘If they could see me now’ and ‘I love to cry at weddings’. The story is loosely based on Federico Fellini’s film “Nights Of Cabiria”, about a sweet-hearted Italian prostitute. “It tells the story of an eternally hopeful but repeatedly disappointed dance club hostess”. Sweet Charity will be performed at the Montgomery Theatre, Surrey Street, Sheffield on the 7th to the 11th of November at 7.15pm (with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm). For tickets call 01246 415993
