• Notes: At Madame Dubonnet’s finishing school near Nice, 5 young English girls are hoping to find boyfriends. Four of the girls are successful but Polly Browne does not dare choose a boyfriend in case he does not come up to her very rich father’s expectations. Polly’s father pays a visit, meets Madame Dubonnet and they re-kindle their old romance. Polly then meets Tony Brockhurst, who has run away from college and is now dressed as a messenger boy. Polly and Tony fall in love and tell each other that they have no money and want only to love each other and lead a simple life. That evening at the ball all the girls become engaged to marry. Polly and Tony find out the truth about each other (each is cultured and well-to-do). Polly’s father and Madame Dubonnet decide they should marry too, and Lord and Lady Brockhurst are reunited with their son (and soon-to-be daughter-in law).
