Extra Information
- NEW PLAY OFFERS BLEAK VISION OF LONDON AFTER ECONOMIC COLLAPSE.A new play from author, journalist, contemporary historian and Finchley resident Francis Beckett, The London Spring, is set in London in the near future – a London where greed, corruption and economic collapse have left Londoners begging for pennies from wealthy foreigners.Former Oxford professors hawk lavatory paper in the streets, and tourist buses are scared to stop in case of mob attacks.
We remember the Prague Spring in 1968, the Arab Spring in 2011 – but what will it take before London has had enough?
FROM 6-25TH MARCH PERFORMANCES RUN TUESDAY-SATURDAY STARTING AT 7.30 P.M. AND ON SUNDAY STARTING AT 6.30 P.M.
Francis Beckett, biographer of Clement Attlee, scourge of the baby boomer generation, has written 17 books and four plays. His first play, The Sons of Catholic Gentleman, won the Independent Radio Drama Productions award and was broadcast by LBS; his second, third and fourth plays all had successful London fringe runs
