A note from director Ian Long ~
“It has come to my attention that there is currently a rumour circulating that The Maids will be performed by some young chaps in dresses. Now, while this may have been M Genet’s original intention (notwithstanding his own personal “preferences”), it was not that of his original director nor indeed of the most noted English language production which starred Glenda Jackson and Susannah York. I fully intend to stage the play with an all female cast and a very talented and attractive one at that. I am not intending to let the opportunity of spending an hour or two in a wealthy young Parisian socialite’s boudoir go to waste and I suggest you join me (and them) at the Edward Alderton Theatre from 15 May.”

The Maids runs from 15th May 2010 to 22nd May 2010 (except Sunday). Doors open at 7.30, curtain up 8.00 pm. Tickets GBP 7.00
