The Picture of Dorian Gray
- Sep 23rd 2010 5:45 pm to Sep 25th 2010 5:45 pm
- Oct 2nd 2010 5:45 pm
Dorian Gray is a beautiful young man, and when a painter produces a fine portrait of him, Dorian makes a fateful wish that all of the effects of ageing and decadence be given to the portrait whilst he remains young and beautiful forever. Influenced by Lord Henry, Gray embarks on a life of debauchery and evil, his body showing no effect of his crimes or age. But how long can he escape justice; mortal and natural?
The Picture of Dorian Gray is a stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic and controversial novel, described by writer John Osborne as a “Moral Entertainment”. It is the story of a man who preserves his youth and is feted by society, all the while his portrait deteriorating with age and corruption.
