“The School for Scandal” is a comedy of manners, first performed in 1777. Set in a society where gossip and slander fill their time, Lady Sneerwell and the characters that surround her, consider the destruction of marriages and reputations as mere entertainment.
Throughout the play, the consequences of their actions are felt, with brilliantly witty dialogue adding a comedic edge to the scandal that unfolds
“I live by the badness of my character; and if it were once known that I had been betrayed into an honest action, I should lose every friend I have in the world.”
Performances are at Dorridge Village Hall Theatre, Solihull.
Thursday 18th - Saturday 20th March 2010
