Extra Information

  • Notes: THE WINSLOW BOY’ By TERENCE RATTIGAN Written in 1946, the play is based upon a real-life court case which gripped the nation and its newspapers in the late Edwardian summer of 1910. Set in 1912 – 1914, the play tells the story of Ronnie Winslow, who is accused of stealing a postal order from a fellow student at Osborne Naval College. His father, Arthur, determines to prove his innocence, and with the help of a celebrity barrister, pursues his case; butArthur’s determination demands a high price from his family and from himself. The play is a compelling dramatic study of the pursuit of justice and of the human price to be paid for insisting “Let Right be done!” SUBMITTED BY: Christine Davidson
