Watford’s Centralian Players present ‘Theft’ by Eric Chappell.

Penned by Eric Chappell – the comic mastermind behind sitcom classics ‘Rising Damp’ and ‘Duty Free’ – ‘Theft’ is a comic tour-de-force, packed with brilliant one-liners, great comedy characters, and sharp observations on marriage, money and crime. 

The action begins when childhood friends John and Trevor return with wives Jenny and Barbara from an anniversary celebration, only to find John’s house has been ransacked by burglars.

A well-spoken police inspector, who isn’t all he seems, adds to the mayhem. And over the course of the evening, two seemingly happy marriages and one formerly strong friendship begin to unravel, as the accusations fly.
