Extra Information

  • Other Information: Mossley Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society has gained a reputation for being one of the ’s most innovative, and successful, musical theatre companies. Few amateur (or should that be non-professional?) theatre groups have the courage or ability to produce new works, but Mossley AODS has already produced three in the last 9 years and is gearing up for its fourth in April, when it presents Witchfinder, Martin Roche’s monumental new musical, inspired by the Pendle witch trials of the 17th century. This major new work combines historical fact with gritty, romantic fiction, in a story that illustrates, vividly, the tragic reality of the Pendle Witch Trials, and with the benefit of a moving musical score.

This show will prove to be of great interest to many people across the North West, particularly in Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

If you would like to see more information about this show – its conception and development – then check out our website at www.witchfinderthemusical.co.uk, or www.maods.org.

The show will be presented at the George Lawton Hall, Stamford Street, Mossley, Lancs, from 20th to 25th April, 2009.
