The Raglan Players have been established in Northolt, Middlesex for over 30 years. We are - as our mission statement says : "A friendly, welcoming group committed to creating quality, live entertainment and developing the potential of everyone within the team."
We produce two plays each year, in May and November. Our past productions have been as diverse as "When Did You Last See Your Trousers?" to "Whose Life is it Anyway?"
We regularly host and attend workshops on such areas as characterisation, emotions, improvisations and make-up.
We are members of the Ealing Arts Council and enter their annual drama awards. This event invites all amateur drama groups in the borough to enter a maximum of 2 plays per production year. One professional adjudicator attends the performances and gives a verbal report. This is extremely useful to our group and us individually as we feel it is only by encouraging constructive criticism we can improve and move forward. The Raglan Players are the proud winners of several awards plus 4 coveted ADA's for overall best production. At this year's ceremony we won with Michael Snelgroves' comedy "Bums on Seats." By participating in this way we have built good relationships with other Ealing groups. Each summer many members from varying groups join together to take part in a play at Ealing's Summer Festival.
As our group is self supporting, we organise fundraising evenings such as cine race evenings, quizzes, etc to finance any purchase or refurbishment necessary. We have recently installed a new lighting system and sound system, which will benefit us in our future productions. We are also a very social group and have lots going on throughout the whole year.
If you are interested in joining us or would like further details of our forthcoming productions, please contact Wendy Mulhall our Membership Secretary on 01895 255794.
