Avalon Theatre Company is a diverse group of adults and young people from all walks of life and different ethnic backgrounds, who are bound together by a love of music and theatre.

 

Avalon Theatre Company produces quality theatrical and musical productions and takes them into local communities at affordable prices. We have our own in-house musical accompanist and producing talents.  We also work with other well known musical directors, producers and principals. Our age range is currently 6 - 80 years bringing a wealth of life experience mixed with the enthusiasm of youth.  Our membership of about 40 is drawn from across a number of boroughs especially Croydon, Sutton, Lambeth and Merton and new members are always welcome. Our acting, musical and dance abilities range from very experienced performers to complete beginners.  Others are skilled in designing and making costumes, set production, lighting, sound, publicity, fund raising, social activities, video production, photography, box office and front of house. We aim to stage two major productions each year as well as an annual summer concert.  We also put on various other shows and concerts which are taken out into the community. We have a programme of social activities for members, affiliated members, families and friends.  Recent events have included Barn Dance, Quiz evenings, Beetle Drive, Auctions etc.  These have been held in local churches and community centres and have helped to raise valuable funds towards forthcoming productions. How many theatrical groups start from a sewing circle during World War II?? We have a fantastic production in May 2005 which will have you laughing all the way home, a musical extravaganza concert in July 2005 and our big show-stopper in November 2005.
