We were founded in 1970 and are a very friendly and informal group. We meet at Woodland Road Sports and Social Club every Wednesday (and most Thursdays) between 7:30pm and 10pm, so if you’ve ever had an ambition to tread the boards, why not come along and say hello. You’ll never know until you try, and don’t forget, there are plenty of opportunities backstage as well as in directing, costumes and set building & design.
We stage two major productions per year at the Congress Theatre in Cwmbran: a pantomime in January and a musical in September. We also stage other smaller concerts, plays and social evenings at other locations throughout the year.

The Cwmbran Woodland Players was originally founded in 1970 by Nina Richards to produce an annual pantomime. We now annually produce musicals and traditional pantomimes at the Congress Theatre, Cwmbran along with regular concerts and occasional other productions at various other venues. Recent pantomimes include: Goldilocks & the 3 Bears (2012), Dick Whittington (2010), Frankenstein (2007), Cinderella (2006) and Peter Pan (2005), while recent musicals include: Oliver (2011), Calamity Jane (2010), My Fair Lady (2009) and Thoroughly Modern Millie (2008). We sometimes enter the Gwent Festival of One Act Plays. We are a committee run, non-profit making society, affiliated to NODA and WAMF/Ty Cerdd. We are a friendly crowd and are always looking for new members from the age of 9 and over.
