The Society was founded in 1901  to stimulate interest in the art of theatre and to enable its Members and others to become acquainted with the best modern and classical drama by means of play readings, lectures, discussions, stage productions and theatre visits.

We meet from September to May having readings every fortnight, during the term time, and producing 2 plays a year.  We also enter the 1 act play All England Theatre Festival.

We would welcome anyone who has an interest in Drama, whether to Act, work behind the Scenes, read plays to the Society, entertain through our Chapter and Verse group, or come to be entertained.
