Spotlight Musical Theatre Company is a new musical theatre group, formed in the summer of 2007. They are based in West London. This new company can already boast years of experience though: some of the members have been treading the boards for over 40 years! They also have some members who are new to performing onstage so it’s great to have so much experience to draw on.

Although several members of the group have performed together before with other musical theatre companies, it’s very exciting to have formed an entirely new company. Spotlight’s first show, to be performed in May 2008, is a celebration of American songwriters, dancers and performers. They’re having great fun rehearsing lots of different music from Stephen Schwartz to Stephen Sondheim. Learning lots of different songs and movement, not to mention original musical arrangements by their very talented Musical Director, is proving to be a very enjoyable challenge for them all.

As well as performing onstage, they enjoy spending time together and socialising outside rehearsals. Despite not yet celebrating their first birthday, they have already enjoyed a Christmas meal together and are looking forward to more social events in the coming months!

Spotlight rehearse on Tuesday evenings between 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the hall at Hayes End Methodist Church, Uxbridge Road, Hayes End, Middlesex, UB4 8JW. They are a friendly group and are keen to welcome new members to their fledgling society, particularly men!
