The Peters Players

The Peters Players are an amateur dramatics group and were formed over 35 years ago under the name of The Tapestry Players. In the early 1960's the Tapestry Players were renamed The Peters Players in memory of Captain Peters who had begun to help finance the shows.
When he died, Captain Peters left his house, which is now known as ICL Beaumont, to the local community and left £1,000 to The Peters Players, the interest of which went towards supporting The Peters Players' productions well into the 1980's. Most of the balance was spent on refurbishing the scenery at that time.

The Peters Players normally stage two plays per year and over the last few years, we have raised and donated over £1,500 to charity, predominantly to The Guide Dogs for The Blind Association, and we are currently looking for suggestions for further local organisations to support.

Come and Join Us

Would you like to join The Peters Players, either to tread the boards, help backstage, or to assist with the construction and painting of scenery? If so, we meet at the Memorial Hall, Straight Road, Old Windsor, every Tuesday from 8.00 pm until 10.00 pm, often re-convening afterwards at the Union Inn for extra-curricular activities! You are welcome to come along any Tuesday.

MEET OUR COMMITTEE!

Dil DILWYN BRIGHT
President and Treasurer
Dil has directed and starred in many Peters Players productions since joining in 1980 and he is currently our President and Treasurer. Earlier this year, Dil took on the role of Inspector Frost in our production of Cat's Cradle, and was easily a match for David Jason!
Kim KIM HALLIDAY
Chairman and Publicity Officer
Kim entered the world of entertainment at the tender age of 4 when she jumped up onto a table and gave an impromptu performance of Daisy, Daisy to an audience of astonished restaurant-goers at Hampton Court! This lead to her weary parents enrolling her at a dancing school where she studied tap, jazz and modern dance until the age of 18, when she had a brief stint as an aerobics teacher before joining a local musical theatre company as a chorus member in 1989. Kim has appeared in shows with most of the amateur theatre groups in the area, including roles as principal boy in Aladdin, Sylvia in Stepping Out, Jane Worthington in Out of Order and Ethel Toffelmier in The Music Man. Kim's more recent roles include the glamorous ghost Penelope in The Peters Players These Ghoulish Things and Hattie in Kiss Me, Kate! earlier this year. She has also appeared on stage in a charity show at the London Palladium and twice in a variety show at the Pier Theatre, Worthing.
Christine CHRISTINE MC KINNON-WOOD
Secretary
Christine has belonged to a variety of societies in the many years she has given to the "am drams", and has taken on a variety of roles on stage and off - dancing, singing, acting and also the odd spot of directing and backstage work. In her spare time, Christine undertakes charity fundraising and works for several youth organisations.
