Angels is opening the doors to its Wembley warehouse once again to give enthusiasts the chance to update their wardrobes with vintage fashions from the 1950s – 1990s and original uniform clothing at bargain basement prices on Saturday 6th February at the Angels Retro Sale.
Over 25,000 items of clothing and accessories will be sold at this fantastic one-day event, which follows up the success of 2008’s Big Vintage Clothing Sale and 2009’s Uniform Sale, both of which saw thousands of eager shoppers file through the doors in Wembley. The Retro Sale will feature fashion items from the 1950s all the way through to the 1990s, including coats, suits, skirts, trousers, dresses, blazers and vintage handbags. There will also be one room devoted to a selection of high-quality military and civilian uniform items and hats.
Following the huge success of Angels’ first public sale in 2008, the Oscar-winning, world-famous costume supplier is opening its doors once again, this time to sell over 250,000 high-quality items of authentic uniform and equipment dating from 1900 onwards.
The Angels Uniform Sale will take place at 3 Boundary Road, Wembley, HA9 7ND on Saturday 28th November 2009, featuring authentic uniforms, helmets, headgear, leather and webbing equipment from a range of famous war films including Saving Private Ryan and The Great Escape. This impressive sale, the largest and most diverse of its kind, provides a one-off opportunity for collectors, re-enactors, theatre groups, fancy dress enthusiasts, Airsoft fans and fashionistas to get their hands on a huge variety of original uniforms at incredibly low prices.

How often have you seen a promenade theatre production by an amateur theatre company? Not many I bet. Come to that how many have you seen by a professional theatre company? Promenade theatre is not the first choice for many theatre companies, but with a little thought and understanding, it can be a highly entertaining experience for both the audience and the actors.
I’ll confess, this isn’t something I knew much about but this booklet by Ann Thomson made me think twice about this medium of theatre.
