This “Mini Pantomime”, specially written for a “Review” style show, takes about 20 minutes to 30 minutes to complete (but allow for audience to get involved and the songs). No set required, just the characters coming off. Costumes however are required. Of course the more bad taste in the choice of costumes the better.
This collection of performance pieces certainly is a treasure. Written by Pip Parry over a lifetime, this is a brilliant source of material for amateur theatre groups looking for festival entries, shorter pieces, something different etc.

The Company are looking for 4 – 6 unperformed shortish plays (maximum length 1 hour), from writers local to Sussex, Hampshire, Kent and Surrey.

2008 One Act Playwriting Competition
On Friday 6th June 2008, the result of the Drama Association of Wales’ One Act Playwriting Competition was announced at Blackwood Miners’ Institute, Blackwood, Gwent.
After last years successful Theatre Trails, the Steyning Festival and The Company are looking for 4 – 6 unperformed short plays (maximum length 1 hour), from writers local to Sussex, Hampshire, Kent and Surrey. They will be performed as rehearsed readings at different venues in Steyning, as part of the Steyning Festival 2008 on 24th May and 8th June. All plays need to be submitted by 20th January 2008.
A brand new online audio theatre company is giving a new lease of life to audio drama.
If you search Samuel French’s online there is an entry of “Rocky Horror Show” by Richard O’Brian. As far as I’m aware this musical has never been available for amateur before. Who’s going to be the first?
update 9th Oct 2006: A telephone call to Samuel French established that whilst the play is printed by them, it is not available to amateurs. They are collecting a waiting list just in case it ever does become available. Sorry guys.
