Auditions – Sister Act

Auditions for Mill Hill Musical Theatre Company’s staging of Sister Act are to take place on Wednesday 10 May at 8pm.

All the roles in the show are up for grabs, from larger-than-life star-in-waiting Deloris, the haughty Mother Superior and her motley order of nuns, to jumpy cop Sweaty Eddie, Deloris’ gangster ex Curtis Shank and his hoodlums.

Sister Act tells the hilarious story of Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe stage diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look – a convent! Under the suspicious watch of the Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly finds her own.

A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, Sister Act is a reason to rejoice!

‘After smash-hit runs in the West End and on Broadway, this amazing feel-good musical comedy is set to delight audiences in and around Mill Hill, and we are keen to try out as many people as possible for the various roles,’ said Christine Hubbard, chairman of MHMTC.

Sister Act features a brilliant array of songs and great comedy dialogue, so people interested in auditioning should be confident singers and actors. We also have spaces in the chorus for those wanting to join us on stage for the uplifiting fun.’

Those wishing to audition should contact MHMTC on email at info [at] mhmtc [dot] co [dot] uk or call 07798 670004. The auditions are taking place at Hartley Hall, Flower Lane, Mill Hill NW7 2JA, with director Robin Scarborough and musical director Daniel Benisty on the judging panel.

MHMTC is staging an amateur version of the larger-than-life show – featuring the music of Oscar-winner Alan Menken – over five performances from Wednesday 25-Saturday 28 October 2017.
