Amdram.co.uk is not part of an large company, it is not run by a “team of experts”, it is run by one person, me, in my spare time. The site’s primary intention is to promote amateur theatre – it is not run as a profit making organsation. I sell advertising space to relevant organisations, I have a couple of affiliate schemes and I use Google Ads to raise money to cover costs. You can also donate a one off payment to support amdram.co.uk by using the donate button on the left.
If your company wants to reach the estimated 3,000,000 people involved in over 30,000 clubs and societies which make up the amateur theatre community in the UK, talk to me about advertising! (Figures are estimates from available sources including The House of Commons Culture, Media and Sports Committee).
All information is held online and available to everyone. You can search for what you want.
The original Amdram.co.uk web site was launched in the summer of 1997. At the start it had only 4 online pages, and was funded by Curtain Call, the amateur theatre newsletter for Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
The intention behind the site was to bring part of the large volume of Curtain Call information online, and to help publicise amateur theatre to the world in general. Curtain Call no longer exists, but the site has gone from strength to strength and now provides information to visitors all over the world.
