Description of Event: The next production in February 2018 from Ingatestone Musical & Operetta Group is to be the toe-tapping, riotous musical Sister Act.
Best known for the film of the same name starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Act is a joyous & hilarious show that shows how music can bring different communities and lifestyles together.

Deloris Van Cartier is an aspiring singer in Philadelphia, but when she witnesses her gangster boyfriend killing one of his cronies, she is forced to go on the run to escape the same fate. The police place her in hiding at a convent which Deloris at first finds impossible to cope with, as she chafes against the constraints of convent life and an immovable Reverend Mother. However, once she is introduced to the struggling choir at the convent, everything changes as she finds the nuns showing her the genuine love and affection that was missing from her life prior to her arrival at the convent.

Sister Act will run from Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th February 2018 at the Ingatestone Community Club Theatre, High St, Ingatestone, with nightly performances at 7.30pm & a Saturday Matinee at 2.30pm.
