Who wins? You decide! Innovative Audience Participation in Centre Stage London’s Mic Drop
Mic Drop – a musical throw-down, lets the audience decide who wins in an innovative musical showcase.
It’s officially on! In a new musical concept, Mic Drop, Team Girls take on Team Boys in this musical throw-down of epic proportions! Each team will battle for fame and glory but only one can be victorious. Who will it be? Well, the audience has the power!
The creative team of Centre Stage London’s latest production Mic Drop wanted the show to be as interactive as possible and let the audience decide who wins at each performance. They thought about many options including a digital voting system on mobile phones before settling on a far simpler (and arguably more fun!) method, the ‘Ready Steady Cook’ audience voting system!
Audience members will be given a voting card upon entry; one side supporting #teamboys and the other supporting #teamgirls. Teams will compete over several themed rounds, guided by our energetic compere. During the performance the audience make up their minds which team they think has performed the best and who should win the performance for the evening. At the finale, the host will ask the audience to vote, displaying their cards, and the winning team will be decided. It’s ‘Popstars’ meets ‘Pitch Perfect’ with some incredible talent battling it out for glory! A great night out with something for everyone, featuring well-loved classics and re-worked pop arrangements from the Four Seasons to Celine Dion. Who wins? You decide!
The production opens on the 26th of June, so there’s no better time to grab your tickets, pick your side, and consider the gauntlet thrown!
