The Lamproom Theatre is venue for 2017 National Drama Festivals Association British All Winners Drama Festival

In the week 17 to 23 July 2017, The Lamproom Theatre will welcome the 2017 incarnation of the country’s most prestigious amateur drama competition. Some of the country’s very best amateur production, all regional winner in their own right, will be performed in competition and adjudicated by experienced GoDA adjudicator, Russell Whiteley.

Ruth Pearson, Theatre Manager of The Lamproom Theatre and co-ordinator of this year’s All Winners Festival, is excited at the prospect: “With productions from all over the country being presented at The Lamproom in the space of seven days it will be a very challenging week for our dedicated team of Front of House and backstage volunteers, but it’s worth all the effort as the quality of drama will be so very high; and the fact that the team from The Lamproom are all volunteers means that we can keep ticket prices very affordable. The weekly ticket that offers all performances plus the reading of the winning entry of the play-writing competition for only £56 is superb value for money. We hope that this will be picked up by local audiences, and those from further afield, so that we can showcase the best that Barnsley has to offer to those attending as participants and audience members.”

Full programme details (not available at the time of going to press) will be available on both of the websites listed below from late June. The festival will include full-length plays and one-act plays.

Curtain up: Monday 17 to Saturday 22 July at 7.30 p.m., Sunday 23 July at 3.00 p.m.
