West End Workshop

West End Workshop

North Stars Theatre Company is a family run business offering weekly classes and holiday workshops for local children and young people aged 4-18 years as well as a weekly musical theatre group for adults. We don’t audition and welcome all abilities and backgrounds – we truly believe that the performing arts hold the key to many young people being able to fulfil their true potential, to feel accepted for who they are and to overcome may barriers they may face in everyday life. We provide high quality training in all aspects of performing arts at affordable prices for all families and encourage diversity in all its aspects, all within a friendly, family, nurturing environment. Many of our children come to us because they need to build confidence as much as develop skills and we love to see our children grow and blossom with us. We also take workshops into schools and nurseries to try to support the integration of the performing arts in an educational system where this is sadly being squeezed out.

We offer our students regular opportunities to perform to an audience, including a grand showcase or show every summer in a professional theatre. We believe it is very important for our students to have the opportunity to take their skills and build them in to an actual performance.

In addition to this, our ethos is to give back to the community so we visit a range of community groups in our area, from Rainbows and Brownies to the WI. This voluntary work is an important part of our company and will continue to be an integral part of what we aim to achieve. We also perform at a range of charity and fundraising events as well as performing our own musical theatre concerts in aid of local charities.

We are also delighted that the musical theatre legend, Ria Jones, agreed to become our patron in November, which means so much to us. In addition to this, we are now incredibly excited to be working in association with West End and Broadway leading lady Kerry Ellis who is coming to Manchester along with her MD Steve Pritchett to run West End workshops on Saturday 17 March. We still have a small number of places available on this fantastic event, which can be booked directly with us by calling North Stars director Linzi McCoy on 07952 224865.
