Elsie (75) talks to strangers at the bus stop. She tells them about her troubled past and the shocking secret she’s just uncovered. Elsie also talks about the revenge she’s exacting because of that secret but it doesn’t matter because no one listens to an old woman’s ramblings. She just needs to get everything off her chest before the bus arrives to take her to the airport.
This play runs for 30-40 minutes and can be performed with 6F 1M (doubling possible), or with an all-female cast.
It’s simple to stage, with two fixed areas (hospice bed and bus stop) and a flexible central area – making it ideal for one-act festivals.
The PDF of the script is available directly from Arts On The Move – email info [at] artsonthemove [dot] co [dot] uk or call 0161 881 0868 – for just £15.00 (print as many copies as you need) and includes full production notes. The performing rights licence costs just £35.00 for up to 5 performances. Sample pages are available on request. You can also purchase a copy via TreePress.
Elsie has been brought to life through actor read-throughs but I’d love her to find a proper voice!
