From the Publishers:

Fresh off the back of their lastest amateur dramatics production, the Parish Players learn that circumstances beyond their control are forcing them to abandon the Parish Hall.  Without anywhere to stage their plays, they decide to pull on their gardening gloves and enter the regional “Village in Bloom” competition in order to express their artistic flair.  But not everyone is keen on the idea, and the seeds are quickly sown for a hilarious yet touching exploration of a village’s competitive streak, when opposing forces collide and relationships suddenly sit on opposite sides of the fence in a world where not everything is coming up roses.

Jane Thornton was brought up in West Yorkshire.  Her plays include Amid The Standing Corn for John Stock Theatre Co, Back To The Walls, Handle With Care, Catwalk, Cut ‘n’ Dried, I Want That Hair and Shakers (co-written with John Godber) which has been produced worldwide.  She has also written adaptations of Wuthering Heights, Dracula (also with John Godber) and Yvonne Coppard’s Bully for stage and BBC radio.  Various work for television includes the series Bloomin’ Marvellous and Oddsquad, a short film for the BBC, both co-written with John Godber.  Jane is also a director and as an actress has appeared in numerous roles on stage and television.
